Common questions

What counts as a 'recovery'?

A recovery is a confirmed infringement where the infringing party has settled — either by paying a licence retrospectively, agreeing a forward licence, or paying a DMCA/legal-demand settlement. Takedowns without payment do not attract a commission.

How does Framis handle disputes?

If an alleged infringer contests the claim, the case escalates to a formal demand backed by the timestamped evidence bundle, and contested licence claims are held for human review. You're free to instruct your own solicitor at any point — Framis adds no legal fees of its own.

When does the money reach me?

Framis collects each settlement, records your 60% share against the recovery, and pays it out to you. Every settlement and payout is tracked line-by-line in your payout dashboard.

Can I withdraw anytime?

Yes. There is no minimum term. Disconnect your library from the dashboard and outreach stops immediately. Any in-flight recoveries that land after disconnect still pay out at the standard split.
