How it works
Five steps from upload
to payment.
Framis handles every step between discovering an infringement and routing the money into your account. You review, approve, and collect. We do the rest.
Connect your library
Upload the photographs you want protected. Framis stores them encrypted, generates a perceptual fingerprint for each image, and anchors proof of ownership to the Bitcoin blockchain.
Every image gets a SHA-256 hash and a perceptual hash. The SHA-256 is embedded in a Bitcoin OP_RETURN transaction — an immutable timestamp that proves you owned the image before any infringement occurred.
We scan the web — and we listen to you
Two intelligence layers run in parallel. Our autonomous discovery network continuously sweeps thousands of commercial domains — charter brokerages, real estate listings, hotel platforms, editorial publications — looking for matches against your library. You also feed in your own intelligence: clients who never paid, brands you've spotted using your work, agencies you suspect. Every URL you give us becomes a priority crawl target every night.
The more you tell us, the more we find. Photographer-flagged domains regularly produce the highest-value recoveries — you know your industry better than any algorithm. Our autonomous scan covers direct embeds, resized crops, colour-adjusted versions, and watermark-stripped copies; your tips point us at the places infringers actually hide. Both streams feed the same matching pipeline.
We confirm and assess
Every candidate match passes through all three matching layers before it becomes a confirmed infringement. Confirmed cases are auto-assessed for licence value based on usage type, domain authority, and your rate card.
Framis routes each case: soft licence request for commercial pages likely to settle quickly, formal demand for high-value confirmed uses, DMCA takedown where jurisdiction requires it. You see the routing logic before any message goes out.
You approve the outreach
One click. Framis sends the message, manages replies, auto-classifies responses (accept, dispute, takedown, confused), and handles escalation. A court-ready evidence bundle is generated automatically.
Nothing leaves without your explicit approval. You can edit the draft, adjust the licence amount, or dismiss a case entirely. All communication history and reply classification is available on your dashboard.
Money flows, licence issues
The infringer pays via a secure Stripe Checkout link and the licence document issues automatically. Framis collects the settlement and records the split: 60% to you, 40% Framis — which covers discovery, outreach, evidence bundles, payment processing and platform infrastructure.
No invoicing. No chasing your own settlement. Stripe handles currency conversion if the infringer pays in a foreign currency. Your share is tracked line-by-line in your payout dashboard and paid out to you. Processing fees come out of Framis's 40%, never yours.
Trust the chain
Every image gets
a Bitcoin-anchored
timestamp.
When Framis indexes your photograph, it embeds the image hash in a Bitcoin blockchain transaction. That record is public, immutable, and independent of Framis — it cannot be altered or deleted, even if Framis ceased to exist tomorrow.
The timestamp is verifiable at framis.app/verify/[hash] — no login required. Any lawyer, judge, or infringer can confirm independently that the photograph existed, and that you owned it, before any infringement occurred.
What the chain record proves
- — The exact image content (via SHA-256 hash)
- — The date and time of upload
- — Your Framis account as the registrant
- — The Bitcoin block number (independently auditable)
