Framis brings image matching, case evidence, outreach drafts, and licence recovery into one place. You review the claim and decide what happens next.
Upload the photographs you want to monitor. Framis stores them encrypted and generates fingerprints that help find visually similar copies.
Framis can submit a file's SHA-256 fingerprint to OpenTimestamps. Once the proof is confirmed on Bitcoin, it can show that those exact bytes existed by the anchoring block. The timestamp alone does not establish authorship or ownership.
Framis can search selected web sources for possible uses of your work when a scan is run. You can also suggest clients, sites, or pages for the team to investigate. A suggestion helps prioritise review; it is not a promise that a page will be scanned on a particular day.
Matching combines visual signals to surface candidates, including some altered copies. Coverage depends on what has been scanned and the changes made to an image. Your knowledge of a client or publication gives the reviewer useful context, but no matching method catches every use.
A visual match is a lead, not a finding that someone used your photograph without permission. Framis gathers available evidence and case context so the claim can be checked before outreach.
The review can consider the image, the page, your rate card, and any licence or client permission. A reviewer can dismiss a false lead, hold a case for more evidence, or prepare an appropriate next step.
When a case is ready, you can review its outreach draft and decide whether to approve it. Framis records replies and case actions so a dispute or correction can be reviewed by a person.
You can edit the draft, adjust the proposed licence amount, or dismiss the case. Evidence records support review; they do not guarantee a legal outcome.
If the recipient agrees to a licence, payment can be collected through Stripe Checkout. Framis records the payment and licence for the specific photograph and domain, with the agreed 60% photographer share and 40% Framis share.
Your dashboard tracks what is owed and what has been paid. Photographer settlement is handled manually at the current pilot scale; a recorded recovery is not the same as a completed payout.
Trust the chain
Framis calculates a SHA-256 fingerprint of the original file and can submit it to OpenTimestamps. When a proof is confirmed in a Bitcoin block, you can check the timestamp independently of Framis. Submission and Bitcoin confirmation are separate steps.
When a proof is available, its status and verification steps are at framis.app/verify/[hash] — no login required. A verified proof ties the file fingerprint to a time bound. Your ownership and whether a particular use was authorised still require separate evidence.
